Grandsire and Group A Triples Touches

This page contains a set of touches that will work for group A triples methods, i.e. those twin hunt methods that have the lead end 1253746. Not many named plain methods exist with this lead end. However Grandsire, which is probably the most commonly rung triples method, does.

The summaries of music in the touches below are correct for the specific touches listed alongside. Rotations of these touches will obviously have different combinations of music.

For these touches the music is explained as follows. 567s means roll-ups at the back of the change. 74s and 46s represent the bells in sixths and sevenths. QKTWB refers to the incidence of Queens, Kings (75312468), Tittums, Whittingtons (12753468), and back-change respectively. The listing of 756s is to indicate the number of leads in which the back three working bells are coursing in the tittums position, a musical characteristic found desirable usually on higher odd numbers of bells. The callings are identified for each lead of the touch. A plain lead is represented by 'p', 's' means a single, and '-' means a bob.
